FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK….
“When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts.”
– Dalai Lama
Nurtured by nature, the school is set amidst the epic Himalayas! The tranquil landscape endorses our effort to inculcate intrinsic reverence for life and a passionate love of learning through an academic curriculum that is beyond instructional packages. The school endeavours to cultivate moral, emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions of the developing child.
The school program features a holistic, integrated approach where child-centered activities, play, open-ended tasks, explicit teaching and targeted structured activities provide a balanced curriculum which aims at enhancing the physical, analytical and cognitive skills of our children and at the same time prepares them for the next level of learning, to ensure a smooth and easy transition.
At the same time, to meet the opportunities and challenges of today’s interdependent world and a need to cultivate students who think and act as global citizens responsiveness to diverse learning styles is facilitated through direct engagement, use of technology, and by using real-life experiences. The year 2020 has provided important learnings that we must take into the years ahead. Students learned to adapt to alternate methods of learning and teachers learned to diversify which has led us to rethink academic structures making it imperative to embrace blended learning solutions.
An attempt to implement a distinctive blend of offerings in the areas of knowledge and enterprise is made. With praise, encouragement, enthusiasm and affection used as tools to nurture talent, skills and abilities; children are encouraged to imbibe values of tolerance, fair play, compassion, integrity, fortitude, a good moral character, and a strong sense of discipline.
Children learn best when the significant adults in their lives work together to encourage and support them and by fostering collaboration with family and community the school looks forward to cultivating a growth mindset among its students aiding them to build their skill sets in a direction that is not only necessary but a mandatory aspect of meaningful education. Essentially, children are placed squarely at the center of the curriculum, and nurturance of total development and learning is the goal.
We look forward to a wonderful school year ahead!
